Dr Mohan Siriwardena 

Dr Mohan Siriwardena is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Civil Engineering & Built Environment,  Liverpool John Moores University, UK. 

He graduated from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, with a B.Sc. Honours in Quantity Surveying, and also holds a PhD and a post-graduate teaching qualification from the University of Salford, UK. Mohan has held academic positions at University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, University of Salford, UK & Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, UK, covering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes related to Surveying, Construction Project Management and Energy Sectors. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK. 

 

Mohan has functioned as a co-investigator in European Commission funded research projects and also in a Knowledge Transfer Partnership. As part of his research projects, he has closely collaborated with major UK companies such as BAA, Balfour Beatty, Highways Agency, and Manchester City Council. He has published over 50 research publications in international refeed journals and in conferences and has also guest edited a journal special issue. Mohan’s built environment related research interests include process improvement, lifelong learning, disaster resilience, ICT applications including Building Information Modelling (BIM), and through-life management of built facilities. He has served as an organiser for several international conferences held in the UK and overseas, also functions as a reviewer of international journals and conference papers. Mohan has supervised several undergraduate (BSc) and postgraduate research studies (MSc & PhD) and has also examined several PhDs.
